Meet The Team
Experienced teacher in Applied Behaviour Analysis

Emma
I have been teaching for 25 years. My teaching journey includes mainstream classrooms in England and Australia. Teaching English as a second language. Teaching at the Accelerated Learning Centre for Autism and a teacher/coordinator in an Early Intensive Intervention program for children with Autism. I have used Applied Behaviour Analysis and taught children with Autism for 12 years.
Our Teaching style
At ASD Compass our teaching style is Applied Behaviour Analysis, ABA. This means we use a lot of reinforcement and praise. We bring toys with us so that your child quickly learns that if they follow a direction, they get a reward. We work on play skills and spend time playing with your child, teaching them to copy and imitate. We work on matching and sorting skills. Safety skills such as responding to their name and coming when called. We teach academic skills and also incorporate speech and fine motor elements into our teaching programs. We will work on the goals in your NDIS plan you have identified important for your child and what is important to you as a family.

How the process works
2
Free Consultation
We will arrange a free consultation in the comfort of your home where we will collect further information about your child and their needs. Our goal is to gain an understanding of what you are looking for in regards to therapy and help.
3
Lets work together
If we can assist, we will then arrange a time to start working with you and your child. We will discuss where your child is at, their NDIS goals and what we are hoping to achieve.
We will work on a plan to help your child grow and continually upskill.

What we teach
We look at your child’s NDIS goals, your goals as a family and assess where your child is at developmentally; that is where the teaching begins.
We explicitly teach functional skills across the areas of:
• communication, speech and language
• health and safety
• physical
• cognitive
• self-care/daily independent living
• social, play and leisure
• emotional regulation
We believe early intervention is not the only intervention, but early intervention is the best intervention.
Who is it for?
